How to Use Simple Checklists to Boost Efficiency and Reduce Mistakes

I really really love to subscribe articles from Zapier. Zapier always can give me a lot of inspiring ideas and impressed me. This time the blog post i received is – How to Use Simple Checklists to Boost Efficiency and Reduce Mistakes.

Yes, I agreed checklist is very important. Pilot, doctor, lawyer and a lot of more professional definitely are using checking list to make sure minimize the mistake. Especially on the routines job, that is too easy for people to forget 1 or 2 steps and make mistake.

“Had a checklist been followed, the patient wouldn’t have been left in the ER to await surgery for a small knife wound, but would have been rushed to surgery immediately when his doctors realized how deep his wound went.”. Imagine, a simple checklist can save a life.

I love this surgical checklist, plan to make my own check list when i back from Sydney Business trip to boost up efficiency!

Big Data and Data Scientist

Spent less than 12 mins to watch How Big Data Makes Big impact and What is a Data Scientist? by Mike Gualtieri. Both video gave me clear idea what is big data and how data scientist work with big data.

Every single individual in the company can generate and store a lot of data daily. As a staff in IT department, we do have a lot more of data & information from ERP, projects, system & etc. Every single data should treat as treasure and unique knowledge to the employee & company. I do believe if we analysis and share the big data in a right way, big data can transform to the strongest weapon to the company – business can get useful marketing information, business can have better visibility to the projects , employee can use the task knowledge to develop skill and expertise, front desk able to delivery perfect customer experience & a lot more benefits that beyond our imagination.

Interesting concept and job role.

May You Rest In Peace

Last weekend was like a drama , the family running in and out in the ICU, no one knows including doctor when was the last visit. A lot of medicines + multiple tubes to support your life, medicine and medical tools work harder than the your actual body. I know you were still listening what we were talking beside you, indeed you were still fighting. Your sons, daughter, grandchildren, brother & sisters, nieces, nephews we all here to support and accompany you until the last breath.

I hate the feel waiting outside of the ward and waiting for the time. This reminds me when i was 17 we did the same for grandma when doctor announce there was no hope to rescue her life, the different is now you were on the bed suffering the pain and discomfort caused by cancer. The time never be enough for the family to accept and face the truth.

I miss grandma & Tiffany a lot and now you. With my knees down, i want to say Thank You so much for all your supports & concern to me and my family, I don’t know what else to say but words cant express my feeling now.

Uncle, may you rest in peace. I miss you.

Solo Travel is Hard. Do It Anyway – By Gigi Griffis

Gigi Griffis is one of the strong women i admire on – She is brave, happy and positive.
My first solo experience was few years ago to Brussels-Belgium. My travel partner couldn’t make it few days before the trip , I almost give up the trip due to the fear of travel alone. Indeed i never regret i made the bold move to choose the solo travel instead of staying home.

I love the post Solo Travel is Hard. Do it Anyway by Gigi so much:

  • The truth is that this is sometimes our choice, not between two ideal options—solo travel with its ultimate freedom or partnered travel with its shared experiences and responsibilities—but between flying solo, braving that full burden ourselves, or missing out on the experience.
  • I choose travel. I choose experience
  • And so this post is for the rest of us, the ones not wrestling with the question of traveling with friends or going it alone, but wrestling with the question of traveling alone or staying at home. There’s no right answer, really. Home can be a lovely place, too. But if what you want is a life of travel, don’t let being alone stop you. Go. Do. Be unstoppable.

Letting Go of Unhealthy Relationships and Rediscovering Yourself

Very good article by Lakshmi Raman.

When you cleanse your life, both physically and emotionally, you create space for something better Raman#

If you’re afraid of letting someone go, realize you are doing them a favor. You’re not only creating space in your own life, you’re also creating space in theirs so they can find someone who is a better energetic match for them. Raman#

I realized I had to stop sacrificing myself and my happiness for others. It isn’t healthy. Raman#

I also knew this would help me attract healthier relationships. When you start doing things for yourself, people pick up on that energy and can see and appreciate you for who you are.  Raman#

As you start dedicating time to things that are important to you, the right people will come into your life—people who see and appreciate you for who you really are.  Raman#
